Task A: Create a Mindnode of questions that our essential question raises. (Use Who? What? Where? Why? When? and How? questions.) Save it in Mindnode and export a pdf copy into in your CBL folder.
Together we come up with a challenge based on our essential question. Below is an example of a possible challenge.
Sort students into groups - now that they understand the challenge - and have an idea of a solution they want to explore
The next step is for the students to ask guiding questions to direct them in finding a solution to our Challenge. THIS NEEDS MODELLING.
Task B: Based on the example modelled in class, you now need to ask guiding questions to steer you in order to find possible solutions to your challenge question.
Task C: Based on your guiding questions - What do you need to learn/ what information you need to find out/ what resources will you need access to/
TRG activities to guide groups and teach skills needed at this initial planning stage -teachers need to look at guiding questions and identify what learning needs to take place to give the students the tools for success
Students having researched their guiding questions and got an understanding of their will be in a position to offer solutions to their challenge.
